Having real fishing experience is a big help in this game for sure, but don't be a slave to it, because as you told me via PM, not everything is as you expected and would do for real.īut honestly, ditch those barbless jigheads unless you're insistent on entering the barbless comps. In real fishing that is a mega imbalance. A fine example of that in this one is the hook sizes, way off what I'd do for real.a 3 inch worm on a 4/0 jighead f'rinstance works ingame. The ' simulator ' tag is a bit of a misnomer, but one which every fishing game does. Remember that as realistic as it is, and it remains the most realistic fishing game I've ever played, it is precisely that - a game. However, if you're not entering the barbless only competitions then there's absolutely no reason to use barbless ingame tbh. I use barbless or crushed barb hooks exclusively irl ( including flies and lures ), I simply applied the same principles to my game. If you're having trouble with that, change your setup and line strength to compensate. Although, sometimes you have to crank your drag up over what you'd deem ' fair ' irl to keep that line tensioned at all times. Don't recall setting the hook being any different to a barbed jighead, didn't lose many fish using them. I had a spell when I was entering comps when I used them and found that the essential criteria was exactly the same as using a barbless hook irl - don't ever let the line go slack. Unlike fishing irl, there's absolutely no reason to use barbless hooks/jigs in the game apart from competitions, therefore a lot of people probably haven't bothered. Hey fella, don't be disheartened by the lack of response.
